THE EXOUSIA PLACE REVIEW AND PREVIEW

THE EXOUSIA PLACE REVIEW AND PREVIEW

Our mission is to raise a people of positive influence and for this year in CGMi, the divine mandate is to do exploit. Exploits in every aspect of life; spiritually, economically, socially, physically and really all round. And that’s what we have started already so far this year.

Though the year is still young, but as a church we have taken off on the right foot. Today’s post intends to highlight all we’ve done so far and all we intend to do in the next two months as part of our efforts in reaching heights of exploits.

Our key events started with the Love Alive service and it was an amazing time in His presence. The 12th of February was the Sunday that preceded Valentine’s Day and love was in the air. As a Church, we were never going to be left out of the frenzy. Our Lord Jesus is love personified and even St. Valentine himself was a true believer in our Lord and his sacrifice on the cross, and that was why he could give is life just for others to enjoy theirs. So on that Sunday, the service was cool. Church was full and we had a talk show with Ps Goodness Emuren as the host and Precious Eda and Doris as the resource persons. God’s love and its power to effectively transform our lives and relationships was the highlight of the talk and with lots of questions from the audience, and the applause given after the talk ended, you could be sure that everyone had learnt something and everyone was blessed.

Thursdays are usually for our Capacity Building Seminar and we always have a wonderful time when we study God’s word and challenge conventional wisdom with the truth. But Thursday the 16th of Februaury would prove to be more than just special for us as we held an outreach and evangelism session tagged “Surface for Christ”. The idea was to go to a major traffic centre in the city and hold up posters carrying short messages of salvation and the unimaginable love of God, and as people looked on trying to read our poster, we slipped to them some tracts. It was a whole lotofun as we converged at the ever busy Berger Round-About in the Azikoro Area of Yenagoa, and at 4pm, exactly the time when the rush hour starts, we surrounded the Round-about doing exactly what we had planned to do. You can be rest assured that lots of people were inspired by our message and hearts were drawn to Christ. Of course, a good number of persons walked up to some of us and asked what was going on, we responded with the Gospel and so we evangelised. Special thanks must really go out to our big brother Ps Wariebiowei Zee for the wonderful concept and idea.

As if that wasn’t enough, Friday the 24th February saw us filing out once again to put God’s Word on the streets. And this time our choice location was the ever bustling Opolo Market which always comes more alive than ever every Friday. So we jumped out there, had great music being played and we held up the posters and gave out the tracts as usual. We felt God doing wonderful things already and we were all proud to be “…not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation…” And yes, salvation was our message all day.

The photos and picture details can be seen right here…

So the weeks to come promise to be more exciting as we have our Men’s Sunday coming up this Sunday the 5th of March, the Women’s Sunday is the 12th , the Teenagers  have the 19th, and the Singles prepare to host this year’s Church in the Park on the 26th of March.
Please keep a date with us and find a way to visit if you are in town, and if you are far away, just keep tabs with us here and you’ll surely get all the details of all the events and programs as they unfold.
For now, it’s a big God bless you from us at CGMi The Exousia Place.
Shalom!!

-WELCOME TO MARCH-

From the table of the Archbishop

Happy New Month!!

March is our month of Missions, a time to remember what our father (Archbishop Benson Andrew Idahosa) lived for. The theme for the month is “Empowered to know him and to make him known” Daniel 12:3 is our key scripture and also Philippians 3:10.

The Message translation of our key scripture reads thus:
Daniel 12:3
""Men and women who have lived wisely and well will shine brilliantly, like the cloudless, star-strewn night skies. And those who put others on the right path to life will glow like stars forever. (MSG)

This month we are commissioned to go win souls and enlarge the kingdom of God.
God bless you and do have an amazing month filled with exploits.
